Questions families ask

Clear answers, before you decide.

How care starts, what it costs, who’s involved, and what we don’t do. If your question isn’t here, ask us. A coordinator reads every message.

How quickly can care start?

Need care soon? Tell us your preferred start date. We will review caregiver availability and confirm the earliest start we can arrange after the required onboarding steps are complete. We confirm your start date, schedule and rates before services begin. There is no separate urgent-start fee.

Is there a minimum visit length?

Yes. Four hours is the normal scheduling minimum for hourly visits. Your schedule is agreed after we discuss your needs and complete the required onboarding.

Do you provide medical care?

No. RealChoice Care is a non-medical homemaker and companion agency. Caregivers help with daily living, companionship, homemaking, and reminders, not nursing treatment, therapy, or medication administration. Our Registered Nurse develops and reviews care plans; that oversight shapes the plan rather than adding clinical services.

Is a nurse involved?

Yes. A Registered Nurse helps assess your nonmedical support needs, develops your personalized service plan with you, and reviews it monthly. Your designated supervisor also checks in with your caregiver weekly. Caregivers provide non-medical support under that plan; we do not provide skilled nursing or other medical services.

What happens if a caregiver is unavailable?

If your usual caregiver becomes unavailable, we review available coverage options and keep you informed. We contact you as soon as we know a change is needed and talk through the options together.

Are caregivers screened?

Yes. Every caregiver is screened, background-checked, and insured. We then match caregivers to each client’s needs, preferences, and personality, and we listen if a match doesn’t feel right.

Do you work with long-term care insurance?

We can provide itemized invoices, your signed service plan and caregiver visit records to support your long-term care insurance claim. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your policy and your insurer’s requirements. RealChoice Care cannot guarantee insurance coverage or payment.

Can schedules change?

Yes. Needs change, and plans should too. Ask your coordinator any time. Adjustments depend on an updated assessment, caregiver availability, and agreement on the new schedule.

How does billing work?

Care is prepaid weekly. We accept credit cards, debit cards, ACH bank transfers and checks, with no additional payment-method fee charged by RealChoice Care. Holiday service on our six listed holidays is billed at 1.5 times the regular rate. New clients receive our First Four Weeks welcome offer: 5% off eligible hourly care during the first 28 days of care, subject to the offer terms we confirm with you. Individual rates are provided after a free assessment. There are no published hourly prices.
